This has to stop. I can't keep spending so much money on records.
On my way to Alien to pick up the new Usher single, "Yeah," I made what was supposed to be a quick stop at Waterloo. I figured that its shelves would be stocked with a nice selecection of recent singles that Alien seems to be unaware of.
Once again I took a stab at finding something fresh in the house section. Someone here, during a recent discussion of house music, strongly suggested that anyone interested in deep/soul house should check out a cat named Osunlade. I listened to his Paradigm in the store and was quite pleased. In particular, I fell in love with "Blackman." I was quite pleased that I found another house record that I enjoyed, but I was a little dissapointed that I had to put back a couple of records (NORE's "Nothin'", BDP's "South Bronx" b/w "The P is Free" and King Geedorah's (AKA MF DOOM) "Anti Matter") to make up for Paradigm's steep price -- $19.99.
A classic record that I did purchase was Eric B. and Rakim's "Move the Crowd" b/w "Paid in Full" (Seven Minutes of Funk) for $7.99. If my memory seves me correct, this should be the version of "Paid In Full" with the Middle Eastern sounding chick singing in the background.
At Alien I picked up the Usher's "Yeah" that I was promised would be in today. The guy had to go in the back to get it, and it's a Killah Kuts, not the actual record-label issued single, which means it doesn't have an instumental or a capella. Anywho, this song is banannas and will be having girls doing things on the dancefloor that you can't even imagine.
Seriously, my record binge is over . . .for the moment.
